Before you order
Will the cemetery or churchyard allow it?
Many cemeteries, churchyards and local authorities have rules about what may be attached to a memorial, and some ask for written consent first. Please check with whoever looks after the site before ordering. If permission is refused, we refund you in full.
Will it look like a barcode on the headstone?
No. It is a small engraved plaque, and the code is etched into the metal in the same tone as the finish rather than printed in harsh black and white. From a few feet away it reads as a small metal plaque. You have to be close to see it is a code at all.
Can I see a real one before I buy?

Which size do I need?
The 50mm is the size most people choose. It is the standard for memorial plaques of this kind, sits discreetly on a headstone, and also suits urns, picture frames and keepsakes kept at home.
The 80mm is easier to scan. A bigger code reads from further away, so a visitor can hold their phone at a comfortable distance rather than crouching at the stone. Worth considering if the people visiting are elderly, or the memorial sits low to the ground.
Which finish?
Brushed steel is what most people choose for granite and modern headstones. Matte black suits pale or polished stone. Antique brass sits better against older weathered stone and churchyard memorials. All three cost the same.
Does it have to be a grave?
No. It works on a headstone, a memorial bench, an urn at home, a picture frame or a keepsake box. It also does not have to be a recent loss.
Setting it up
How does it actually work?
You order, and we email you straight away so you can start the page before the plaque even arrives. The plaque comes with a card telling you to scan it first. Scan it at home, create your account, and build the page in your own time. Then fix it to the memorial, so the first person who scans it sees something finished.
Do I need an app?
No. Any phone camera opens the page and there is nothing to download.
Does everyone need an account?
No. Only you need an account, to build and manage the page. Anyone visiting the memorial afterwards just points their phone at it and looks. They are never asked to sign in or sign up.
I am not good with technology.

What if I only have a few photographs?
Start with one. Most pages grow slowly, and the people who add the most are usually the wider family rather than the person who ordered it.
Can other people in the family add to it?
Yes. Share the link with whoever you want and they can add photographs and memories. You stay in control of the page.
I am ordering more than one. How does that work?
Sign in with the same account when you scan the second plaque. You can link it to a page you have already made, so both plaques open the same memory page, or start a fresh one for someone else. Every page sits under the one account.
How much can I put on it?
Is there a limit?
Every page includes room for 1,000 photographs, 30 minutes of video and 30 minutes of audio. That is a whole life several times over, and far more than most pages ever use.
What happens if I reach it?
Nothing is deleted and nothing stops working. You can add more space at any time for a one-off fee, with no subscription. PLACEHOLDER: add the price once you have costed it.
Why is there a limit at all?
Because hosting is paid for once rather than by subscription, we have to know what we are committing to storing for the long term. A stated allowance is how we can promise to keep your page online without asking you for money every year.
The plaque itself
Will it survive a British winter?
It is made for permanent outdoor use, with weatherproof fixings. If it fails, we replace it. PLACEHOLDER: state how long that cover lasts.
How is it fixed on?
Peel and press. It takes a minute and holds in any weather. Fitting instructions come in the box.
What if the plaque is damaged or removed?
Tell us and we will send a replacement linked to the same page. Nothing you have uploaded is lost.
Can I have their name engraved on it?
Yes, for £14.99. You choose what to engrave: name, dates, a short message, or any combination. We send a proof to approve before anything is engraved.
Privacy and hosting
Is my page private?
Yes. It is not listed anywhere and search engines cannot find it. You can add a password if you would rather.
Is there a subscription?
No. You pay once. There is no renewal fee, and hosting is covered at the point of purchase.
What happens to the page when I am gone?
You can download a complete archive at any time and keep your own copy, and you can name someone to take the page over.
What happens if you go out of business?
You can download a complete archive of everything at any time, in ordinary file formats, yours to keep. PLACEHOLDER: describe honestly how the hosting reserve works, and do not promise a period you cannot evidence.

How quickly does it arrive?

Can I return it?
There is a 60 day guarantee on the plaque. Engraved items are made to order, so the 14 day cancellation right does not apply once engraving has begun, unless the item is faulty or not as described. Full detail is on our returns page.
